Growing Squash, Pumpkins and Courgettes

These are all planted in a similar way. Sow all of their seeds on their side, to help stop them rotting.

They are fast to germinate and grow, but do no not like the cold

Plant one seed into a very large pot, as they grow quickly. They need plenty of food and water and must be kept indoors until the end of May or certainly until after the possibility of any frosts.

Pumpkins and squashes can be trailed up posts or over trellis if space is limited, but larger fruit must be supported or they will weigh the plant down too much.
